Are you an avid magazine collector? If you are, you probably have a pile of magazine strewn in every part of your home. Organizing your collection of magazine is imperative if you don’t want your home to look cluttered and dirty. Here are some nifty ideas on how to organize magazines at home:
Make your own magazine rack from extra plywood.
If you have old wall plaques shelves made from plywood in the garage or excess plywood from your last home renovation, you can always use them to hold your magazines. Try creating a v-shaped magazine holder. Plywood is easy to work with because it is softer than hardwood. Try reshaping it to make it look like a vase. Cut out holders at the top of both ends of the plywood. This will serve as the handle. Make sure the bottom is sturdy or even. If not, cut a narrow piece of plywood and put it at the bottom of the vase-shaped magazine rack. This will even out the bottom so it will stand on the floor easily.
Use old wooden photo frames.
If you have wooden photo frames you are no longer using, you can use them to create an artistic magazine rack. Remove the edges of the frames and separate them until you have 4 even pieces. Now find a place where you can install them. A narrow space on the wall should work. Attach it on the wall with the frame diagonally inclining outward. Place a narrow piece of plywood underneath to hold the magazine.
Use wicker baskets.
Wicker baskets can also double as storage materials. You can purchase smaller wicker baskets and put your magazine collection in there. Place them on bookshelves so you can easily pull the baskets out and get the magazines you want.
Cover your old magazines with colored paper.
They make nice decorative pieces. You can pile them up under the coffee table.
