Choosing a Wall Decoration for your Living Room

Living room is the one of the most used place in your home.  It is a place where you stay during your free time and your relaxation period.  This is also the place where you receive and entertain your guest.  In most cases this is the only place your guests will ever see and spend time on when they enter your house.  That’s why you have to make sure that your living room will set a good impression as this maybe the overall expectation for your entire house.

One of the things that give life and color to our living room is the decorations in the wall.  The walls can be ornamented with wallpaper or hanging decorations such as paintings, photo frames, mirrors or any wall decor.

When decorating your wall, you must consider the following:

1.)  Theme of the living room

For the living room with contemporary and modern theme, a decorative single large mirror or mirror set work well with this type of themes.  A square or rectangular abstract is also a nice addition on the wall.

For the living room with wood furniture, a framed artwork will give a warm and inviting appeal to the living room.

2.)  Overall color of the living room

Just make sure to choose a wall decoration that will complement the overall color of the living room.  You must choose paintings or wall décor that has harmony with the theme color.   Look around your living room and select at least two or three boldest color present in your furniture.  Make sure to stick with those colors and try to avoid wide variations. 3.) Size of the living room

Wall decorations must also fit the size of the room.  If you have a small room, a wall décor that is too large will just overwhelm the room.  On the other hand, a small wall décor on a spacious room will look out of proportion.  Always try to keep the balance in the room.

4.) Be creative
