Energy Saver Tips – Alternative Energy Sources And Eco Friendly Appliances

Energy is indispensable. Without energy, our homes will not run properly. With our increasing dependency on modern equipment and technology, it is virtually impossible to do anything without energy. Our most common energy source is fossil fuel. Burning fossil fuel provides energy to modes of transportation, factories, establishments and appliances. But nowadays, experts are pushing alternative energy sources and eco friendly appliances that make use of alternative energy.

One of the most popular alternative sources of energy is solar power.  Thermal energy can be used to heat up space or water. Since heating appliances gobble up a lot on electricity, they tend to cause surges in electric bill if you use them all the time. Photovoltaic panels can cull energy from the sun’s UV rays and convert it into DC energy and then to AC energy.

Another promising source of energy is wind. Windmills are used to collect energy provided by the wind. This can power a town or a city.

Geothermal energy is also very useful especially to industrial and agricultural use. Geothermal energy is taken from the earth’s core. Devices are drilled in the earth and this will let off steam that will be converted into energy.

Using these energy sources for domestic use can give you more comfort. You can now add a few more nice decorations at home that require energy usage such as  solar fountains.

In addition to these alternative energy sources, homeowners should also seek out eco friendly appliances such as the wash ball. It is a simple wash ball that has a compartment for clothes and detergent. These are mixed together inside the ball. Kids can play with the ball and the churning action inside will clean the clothes. It requires human energy only and even works as an exercise ball.

Another great washing machine invention is the pedal-operated washers. This can be an exercise machine where someone will pedal it to allow the washer drum to churn.
