7 Easy Steps On How To Paint Your Wall

Bored with the old color of your wall?  Do you want to give it a standout look once more? Don’t be afraid to give your home a splash of color.  If you want to repaint and don’t want to spend too much for labor cost then why not do it yourself.    With our 7 easy steps, having a stand out wall is now within your reach.

Materials needed:

1.)    Sandpaper. To smoothen rough surface on the wall.

2.)    Old magazines or newspapers. This is important to avoid unwanted spilling on the floor.

3.)    Masking Tape. To secure newspapers and magazines on the floor.

4.)    Rug, soap and water. To clean all the dirt and dust in the wall.

5.)    Elastic sealant. For corners minor cracks on the wall.

6.)    Paint brush, painting roll and paint bucket.

 

Start with the job:

1.)    Ready all the materials needed before you start.

2.)    Place magazines or newspapers on the floor.  Secure them with the use of masking tape.

3.)    Use sandpaper to smoothen rough surfaces.

4.)    Clean the wall with soap and water.  Then dry it with the rag.

5.)    To prevent paint from cracking from the movements of structures, make sure to put elastic sealants on the corner and minor cracks.  Make sure that the sealant is dry before painting the wall.  Wait at least 20-30 minutes until it gets dry.

6.)    Start painting the first coat.  Always start and end painting on the corner.  Follow only one stroke direction when applying the paint.  Avoid stopping on the middle to prevent uneven paint marks.

7.)    Wait 1-2 hours before applying the second coat to make sure the first coat is already dry.
